Off to the Race(s)!

Finally! At 0545, we cast off our dock lines in the dark and the fog.

The Jamestown bridge in the fog...

We rounded point Judith and buzzed through "The Race" at the entrance to long island sound.  Timing was good to avoid any huge standing waves.

We landed in port Jeff after almost exactly 100 miles. We topped up the fuel and water tanks, because we could, and reconfirmed our fuel burn numbers. They continue to be around 2.7 mpg. Which is pretty good for a 15,000 lb boat at 12 kts.

Ever-vigilant Maizey, on lookout for those evil dolphins.

  1. What an amazing adventure! Good thing you have a dog with you to look for dastardly marine mammals.
