"An attempt on the summit"

The wind looks marginally better tomorrow. With it at our backs, it might be tolerable. Once we're around point Judith, it's down wind and down current through the race and into long island sound. If it's not tolerable, we'll either turn tail and come back to the dock, hole up in the salt pond, or maybe Montauk lake.

Final prep is finished. Car is clean, decks are cleared, ("keep your deck clean or the sea will clean it for you"), and the blinds are pulled open for full visibility from the lower helm.

Dock lines will be thrown at 0800 tomorrow as long as the weather holds. Hopefully I will be too tired to post an update tomorrow after our run. (Otherwise, we probably won't have gotten as far as we wanted.)

Wish us luck!

  1. Good luck. Is there a way to set this up to 'push' notifications when you update?
